The engine in this 1961 Corvette Convertible shows casting number 3849832, which corresponds to a 1964-68 2 bolt main 283ci for a Chevrolet car or truck. According to nastyz28.com, this casting number could have been rated anywhere from 195-220hp. Casting date on the engine corresponds to March 6, 1964, and final assembly corresponds to March 23, 1964. Carter carburetor shows an airhorn casting that could be correct for a 1963-65 Corvette, and is mounted on a GM intake. High-horsepower Corvette finned aluminum style valve covers are installed as well, as is ignition shielding. Frame is super clean, solid, and rust and corrosion-free.
