1969 Corvette
Convertible
Code correct Monza Red exterior, code correct Black vinyl interior,
Tan convertible top. NOM 350ci engine, 4 speed manual transmission.
This car immediately grabbed our attention with its unusual Tan
convertible top producing an excellent contrast to the correct Monza
Red paint. Alas, do not be deterred by this car's placement in the
'project' section; this car needs very little to be a great looking
and driving early C3! Furthermore, the addition of the Vintage Air
a/c system makes this car drivable even in the hottest Atlanta
weather. Paint looks overall very nice and appears to be lacquer.
This car apparently had a luggage rack at one point, and
consequently there are four holes in the rear decklid where the rack
once sat. Usually painted a matte black, someone has decided to
paint the underside of the hood on this car red, which does not look
particularly nice or correct, but nonetheless the color matches the
rest of the exterior. Chrome bumpers look newer and show well with
no major flaws. Driver's chrome mirror is experiencing some flaking
of the finish and show be replaced to match the bumpers.
Additionally, the chrome exterior door handles are showing some
pitting and scratches. Convertible top is in overall good
condition, but shows some minor fogging in the rear window. Trim
rings and center caps on the Corvette rally wheels appear to be
somewhat newer as well and show nicely. Interior shows very good
seat covers and door panels with no major flaws; dash pad shows some
cracking on the driver's side. Gauges show well with fairly bright
needles and tach redline. There is no radio in this vehicle at this
time. The suffix on the stamp pad of this NOM small block 350 shows
that the engine most likely came out of a 1979 Caprice. A polished
aluminum intake shows off this engine well, and goes nicely with the
Moroso chrome air cleaner and chrome Chevrolet valve covers. A
newer GM HEI distributor has replaced the original points-style
ignition, allowing for greater reliability with less maintenance.
Unfortunately, the ignition shielding is no longer present on this
car. A newer Edelbrock carburetor has replaced the original
Rochester Quadrajet. Once again, this car needs minimal work to be
very nice!! Factory features include rare speed warning
indicator (1 of 3,561).
